Dothan is the biggest city in the Wiregrass, and its HVAC needs match its size — subdivisions full of builder-grade systems hitting the end of their lifespan, rental properties that need dependable quick fixes, and older neighborhoods near downtown where ductwork has been modified more than once. Wise Choice Heating & Cooling makes the run into the Peanut Capital regularly, and we treat every Dothan call like it came from next door.
Homes and HVAC in Dothan
A lot of Dothan homes built during the growth along Ross Clark Circle and out toward the west side share the same original equipment brands and the same weak spots. Contactors pit, capacitors bulge, and evaporator coils on fifteen-year-old units start to leak. In attics that bake well past 130 degrees in summer, flex duct sags and pulls loose at the connections, so you pay to cool the attic instead of the living room.
HVAC services we offer in Dothan
In Dothan we diagnose and repair any brand of central air or heat pump, replace failing outdoor units and air handlers, reseal and re-hang attic duct, and set up landlords with a yearly maintenance schedule across multiple properties. If you are comparing quotes for a new system, we will size it with a proper load calculation rather than just matching the tonnage on the old label.

Through the seasons
Dothan summers are long, and the National Peanut Festival crowd in the fall is usually still running the AC. That leaves a short window in late winter for planned replacements and duct projects before demand jumps again. If your system is borderline, getting quotes in January or February gives you time to compare without the pressure of a dead unit in June. Winter calls in the city are mostly heat pumps stuck in defrost or furnaces that will not light after sitting all year.
Distance and scheduling
Dothan sits roughly 30 miles from our shop in Black, well inside our 50-mile service radius, so there is no travel surcharge. Morning calls in Dothan are often grouped together, so booking early in the week gives you the most time slots to choose from.
Can you service multiple rental houses in Dothan?
Yes. Landlords with several Dothan properties can put each one on a Basic or Premium plan, and we will reach out to schedule visits so you do not have to track them. You get a written summary for each address, which makes it easier to budget repairs and document upkeep between tenants.
Why Wise Choice in Dothan
Dothan has plenty of HVAC companies with big ad budgets and call centers. With Wise Choice you get one owner-operator who picks up the phone, quotes the price before starting and stands behind the work personally. No commissioned salespeople, no upsell scripts, just a clear explanation of what your system actually needs and what it will cost to get it there.
